Cyprus is the third largest island after Sicily and Sardinia in the Mediterranean. Cyprus is unique both for its culture and history. Consisting diverse cultures, Cyprus is much more than only an entertainment and a holiday zone. Lord’s Palace is about 10 minutes’ walk to the port which is the heart of Kyrenia. Must-see places of Kyrenia include the Kyrenia Castle, and built inside the Kyrenia Castle in Lusignan – Venice period the Shipwreck Museum and Folk Arts Center as well as Archengelo Michail Church (Icons Museum). Another place that must be seen in Kyrenia is only 10 minutes driving distance to our hotel: Bellapais Monastery and Ayia Asproforesha Church. Bellapais Monastery is known as the best example of gothic art in the Near East. Next comes St. Hilarion Kalesi; also known as Disney Castle. It may be true that there is no Disneyland in Cyprus but the famous castle seen in the beginning of each Disney movie is said to be the St. Hilarion Castle in Cyprus. The castle is really built on top of one of the highest hills of Cyprus. The castle which looks like it is impossible to be accessed when seen from the city center can be reached by car in 15 minutes. This castle is one of the significant architectural structures of Cyprus that witnessed the Middle Ages.
